Jazz piano lessons and music coaching over Zoom, with the same teacher from the first conversation onward. Bring your instrument or voice, your questions, and the music you want to work on.
What a live lesson
actually feels like.
You play or sing, I listen, and we focus on a useful next step. I might demonstrate a phrase, show a different voicing, or help you hear why a rhythm isn’t quite settling. Then you try it, and we work with what changes.
We take turns playing and listening over the call. For ensemble skills, we can work with a recording or backing track on your side. At the end, you have a clear focus for practice.
I’ve taught online regularly for years, including an ongoing weekly student relationship that began during the pandemic. Online lessons work particularly well when you’re comfortable working independently at your instrument.

A SIMPLE START
What you’ll need.
You can begin with the equipment you already use. We’ll talk through the setup before your lesson.
Your instrument and music
A piano or keyboard for piano lessons, or your instrument or space to sing. Have the piece, lead sheet, or musical question you want to explore nearby.
A device that runs Zoom
A laptop, tablet, or phone with a stable internet connection. For piano, position it so I can see your hands and keyboard. We can work through the audio settings together.
A time that works for both of us
Include your city or time zone when you inquire. I’m based in Austin, Texas, and we’ll confirm the lesson time in your local time zone.
Prefer feedback you can revisit?
Send a performance and receive a demonstration and feedback video I record personally for you. We don’t need to be online at the same time.
